Targeted suction therapy for muscular tension, soft-tissue restriction, and mobility.
Cupping therapy uses specialized cups to create controlled suction over the skin and underlying soft tissues. Rather than applying downward pressure into an area, cupping creates a lifting or decompressive force that can be incorporated into therapeutic bodywork.
At Metanoia Mantra, cupping is used intentionally—not simply placed on the body as a routine add-on. Cup placement and techniques are selected according to your areas of tension, movement restrictions, and treatment goals.
What Is Cupping Therapy?
During cupping therapy, cups create negative pressure that gently lifts the skin and superficial tissues.
Depending on your needs, cups may remain stationary for a period of time or be moved across an area using gliding or dynamic cupping techniques.
Cupping may also be combined with movement or other manual therapy techniques as part of a more comprehensive bodywork session.

What About Cupping Marks?
Cupping can temporarily leave circular discoloration or marks where the cups were placed. The appearance and duration can vary from person to person.
These marks are not an indication of how many “toxins” were removed or how effective the treatment was.
What to Expect?
Your therapist will determine whether cupping is appropriate based on your health history, skin condition, treatment area, and goals.
The amount of suction can be adjusted for comfort, and cupping may be provided as a focused service or incorporated into a therapeutic massage when appropriate.
A Different Approach to Tension
Instead of simply adding more pressure, cupping provides another way to work with restricted and tense tissues.
TARGETED. INTENTIONAL. INDIVIDUALIZED.
