Myofascial Release

Targeted bodywork focused on fascia, mobility, and persistent soft-tissue tension.

Fascia is the connective tissue network that surrounds and supports muscles and other structures throughout the body. Because fascia is continuous, tension and movement restrictions may involve more than one area of the body.

At Metanoia Mantra, myofascial techniques use slow, intentional pressure and sustained tissue engagement to work with areas of restriction and support more comfortable movement.

What Is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial release is a hands-on approach that focuses on the fascia and surrounding soft tissues rather than relying solely on deeper pressure.Your therapist may use sustained pressure, gentle stretching, tissue engagement, and movement to address areas that feel restricted or have difficulty moving comfortably.

More pressure isn't always the answer. Myofascial work is often slower and more deliberate, allowing the therapist to respond to how the tissue moves rather than simply applying increasing force.

Myofascial Release May Be Appropriate For:

  • Persistent muscular or soft-tissue tension
  • Restricted or uncomfortable movement
  • Neck and shoulder tension
  • Low-back and hip tightness
  • Areas that feel tight or “stuck”
  • Repetitive-use tension
  • Clients seeking targeted therapeutic bodywork

Understanding the Connection.

The body doesn't function as a collection of completely isolated parts. Muscles and connective tissues interact across different regions of the body and help transmit force during movement. This is one reason myofascial work may consider patterns of tension and movement, rather than focusing exclusively on one small area.

What to Expect ?

Your myofascial session is individualized according to your areas of restriction, comfort, and movement.Depending on your needs, myofascial techniques may be used as a focused session or incorporated into therapeutic massage alongside other appropriate manual techniques.

Intentional Work. Connected Movement.

Your fascia is part of a connected system—and your bodywork should consider the whole picture.
